Who did Gavrilo Princip assassinate? Who wrote the “The Nick Adams Stories” and where were they set?  What year did the tennis balls at Wimbledon go from white to green?**

These were just a few of the questions at the AACL’s Pub Quiz Night on May 14. About 25 fired up members gathered at the Yorkshire Grey in Holborn, and created three teams—CNN, Bloomberg and PEOPLE magazine—all ready to get their quiz on.

Mark Forsyth, the inkyfool  (http://blog.inkyfool.com) blogger and author of “The Elegance of Eloquence: How to Turn the Perfect English Phrase,” served as quiz master. After five rollicking rounds—plus a picture category—CNN won in the end, receiving a bottle of champagne for their efforts. Overall, it was a great evening and a fun way to start off our 95th year.
