What is the AACL?
The Association of American Correspondents in London is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose members represent American news organizations with staff based in London. These include the leading American and Canadian newspapers, news magazines, wire services and television networks, representing a total of 17 groups with over 200 journalists
What does the AACL do?
The Association has been a forum for American journalists since 1919 and has had many established journalists as members over the years. These include the legendary CBS broadcaster Edward R. Murrow, a former past president.
How do I become a member?
To sign up your organisation as an AACL member please contact Monique Jessen (). The annual membership fees range from £250 – £400 depending on the number of members per organisation. Please note that ALL applications are subject to final approval by the AACL’s committee and that the organisation is the member NOT the individual person
If you are interested in signing up as a freelancer, the cost is £50 per year. You must already work for one of our member organisations to join the AACL in this capacity.
How do I get a press card and can the AACL help with this?
The AACL offers its members assistance in acquiring press cards from the Foreign Press Association.
Contact Terry Page at the FPA () cc’ing Monique Jessen, secretary at the AACL () Once approved, you will then be asked to send a passport-sized photo and payment of £70.
